A Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), also referred to as a visitor visa or Canada Tourist visa, is an official document issued by a Canadian visa office that is placed in the applicant’s passport to show that the applicant has met the requirements for admission to Canada as a temporary resident (either as a visitor, a student, or a worker).

Most of the time the visa is given with the validity of six months but sometimes officers can also give a shorter duration of stay, however the date of this visa expiry is mentioned clearly on the passport. In-case where longer stays are required, extension application must be filed for visa at-least 30 days prior to the date mentioned of expiry in the passport.
